Behind the Beans
This coffee is a beautiful representation of coffees from the Guji Zone in Ethiopia: it is so Guji!
This coffee is sourced from the Uraga wash station, which is located in the Guji Zone of Oromia and is owned and operated by Haileslassie Ambaye. Nearly 900 producers living in the community of Haro Wachu help produce this amazing coffee.
Producers deliver ripe cherries to the Uraga wash station where they are sorted and immediately placed on raised beds and dried over a period of 15 to 20 days. Raised drying beds are carefully constructed to ensure proper air circulation and temperature control for an optimal drying process. Cherries are also turned regularly on the beds to prevent damage.
Once dried, the beans are transported to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to be milled and prepared for export.

What do I need to know about shipping chocolate?
Shipping chocolate is a delicate adventure - especially in summer.
Our chocolate is especially vulnerable to the effects of temperature fluctuation because we avoid the use of all stabilizers, preservatives, and fillers.
Our summer shipping protocol is currently in place:
- We only ship chocolate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Orders placed between Thursday and Sunday will ship the following Monday.
- We occasionally make the tough call to postpone shipping on hot days. We will always update you accordingly.
- We recommend all chocolate orders are sent by USPS Priority Mail Express.
- We cannot offer refunds on chocolate shipped during the summer using USPS Ground or USPS Priority Shipping.
- While we can only offer refunds to customers who have selected USPS Priority Mail Express shipping for their chocolate, please contact us if you are unhappy in any way with your order and we’ll do what we can to make it right.
See our FAQ page for more details on chocolate and temperature!

One of my favorite roasts at Maps. A wonderful light roast with fruity notes. Awesome flavor and consistently the best!
It’s a lovely bright cup of coffee. If crisp is your thing this is your jam!this is my second round with the Guji brewed in my aero press! I’ll keep getting it.
Great Light Roast
So Guji is a great light roast Ethiopian coffee! You can taste the notes of floral and berry in every sip. I look for a modern take on coffee that is light and fruity. So Guji has those bright flavors with a smooth finish!
One of my favorite places to go. The owner makes the most amazing coffee and chocolate! I highly recommend Maps to anyone who is a lover of coffee and/or chocolate.

Vince always has recently roasted coffee, and it DOES make a difference. AND he has the best-tasting DECAF anywhere, the last bag I had was better than most other whole bean coffees.
